72-year-old Man hangs self in Phase 7

Nabaz-e-Punjab, Mohali, December 2:
A 72-year-old man committed suicide this afternoon by hanging himself with an iron ladder at his house in Phase 7 here.
The deceased has been identified as Kashmiri Lal. Kashmiri Lal was a retired person and was staying with his son’s family here, said the police.
Inspector Rajiv Kumar, Station House Officer of Mataur police station said, “The deceased was depressed for a long time following which he took the extreme step today. No suicide note was found. The dead body was sent to Civil Hospital and the post mortem will be conducted tomorrow. We have initiated inquest proceedings under Section 174 of the CrPC in this regard.”
