PUNJAB GOVERNMENT CANCELS E-AUCTION NOTIFICATION FOR 56 MINES

Nabaz-e-Punjab Bureau, Chandigarh, June 9
The Punjab Government today cancelled e-Auction notification for 56 mines to be held on June 11, 2017 with immediate effect. The said notification was issued by the Directorate of Mining on May 25, 2017.
Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of the Punjab Government said that as per the requisite conditions of the tender document, the prospective bidders were required to upload documents/details. During the scrutiny process, it came to the notice that nearly 2/3 bidders have not submitted the requite documents/details as per the conditions laid down in the tender document. In the interest of wider competition/participation and fair play it was not deemed appropriate to ignore such a substantial number of prospective bidders. Hence after due consideration, it has been decided to withdraw the notification in the interest of wider competition.
However, after requisite steps, fresh tender notice will be issued shortly. The Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of the bidders will be refunded online by 13 June, 2017. The Department of Mining has asked to all the bidders to upload their documents as per requirement of tender document in future and in case of any confusion or doubt tender document can be referred on the website www.investpunjab.gov.in or help desk number may be contacted, added the spokesperson.
