Taking a strong notice of reports of interference in the ongoing exams of ITI’s at Patiala & Moga the Technical Education Minister Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi today called an urgent meeting of the senior officials of the department. The Minister gave a stern message that anyone found creating obstacles in the ITI exams would be dealt strictly at the department level and police case would be registered. Mr. Channi directed the officials of the department to personally conduct surprise checking of all the examination centers, especially examination centers set up in the remote areas and daily report should be submitted to him. At the same time, he said that he himself would make surprise visits to the examination centres. Mr. Channi said that to stop cheating in exams the department has mostly made examination centres at the government institutes but due to technical reasons some centres were set up at private institutes. He further said that to stop involvement of private institutes in copying in the examination centres set up in the private institutes the government employee was made superintendent. He said that reports of one or two private institutes have come who have tried to obstruct in the on going examination process. He said that at the examination centre set up at Private institute Balraj Singla, ITI near Patiala the management knowingly tried to create hurdles in the examination process due which exam was delayed, but the department immediately sent a team from Chandigarh which conducted the examination process smoothly. He said that the serious note of this has been taken at the department level and police complaint has been lodged. Mr. Channi also said that he has talked to DGP Punjab in this regard and has asked for action against the private institution which has tried to disrupt the examination process besides this he has also asked DGP to provide security personal at the examination centres.
