EDUCATION MINISTER LAUNCHES MOBILE APP FOR MAINTAINING MID DAY MEAL RECORD

WOULD ENABLE TEACHERS TO DEVOTE MORE TIME FOR ACDEMICS: ARUNA CHAUDHARY

Taking another futuristic step, the Education Minister, Punjab, Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary here today launched a novel and one of its kind Mid Day Meal (MDM) app to manage the data pertaining to mid day meal scheme.
Disclosing more details, the minister said that the Department of School Education, Punjab, has developed the software to manage MDM related data. The minister further divulged that the school teachers are required to maintain record of MDM related activities and as of now as many as 8-9 registers are being maintained for this purpose which consumes valuable time of teachers’ which is meant to be used for Teaching-Learning process. This technological advancement would help save the precious time of the teachers which would be devoted to the affairs academic.
Mrs. Chaudhary also added that the MDM Scheme has been implemented for students studying in classes 1 to 8th in all the Government and Government Aided schools across the country as per the Ministry of Human Resource Development guidelines.
Prominent among others who were present during launching ceremony included Mr. Krishan Kumar, Secretary, Mr. Prashant Kumar Goel, Director General School Education, Mr. Tejinder Pal Singh Sandhu, Joint Secretary, Mr. Paramjit Singh, DPI (SE), Mr. Inderjit Singh, DPI (EE), Mr. Sukhdev Singh Kahlon, Director, SCERT
