Aryans Group organizes a seminar on Start up India, Stand up India

Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh organized a seminar on Start up India, Stand up India under the theme “Implementing Start up India, Stand up India in Technical Education: Challenges & Opportunities”.
Dr. M.P. Poonia, Vice Chairman, AICTE, New Delhi was the Chief Guest on the occasion while Sh. Vivek Atray, IAS(Retd), Author & Motivational Speaker; Dr. M.S Ghuge, Regional Officer, AICTE, Chandigarh; Mr. K.S Bhatia, Founder & CEO, Pumpkart; S. Charanjit Singh, Vice President, Startup Accelerator Chamber of Commerce (SAAC) were the Guests of Honour on the occasion. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the function.
Poonia while speaking said that to support financially, AICTE has sanctioned 78 Crore in the academic session 2017-18 to the Govt & Private Colleges while in the academic session 2018-19 there’s possibility of sanctioning more money to these colleges. For its good work among top AICTE approved Colleges of the Chandigarh region, Aryans has also been given a grant of Rs 5 Lakhs for its Faculty Development Program (FDP).

Mr. Vivek Atray, IAS (Retd), Author & Motivator while speaking on the occasion said that senior functionaries of higher education in the state should ensure that each student passing out of the institutes are well-versed and employable & suggested that institutes should focus on job oriented subjects, entrepreneurship and avenues and resources related professions so the passed out students should be job providers and not just job seekers.

Mr. K.S Bhatia, CEO & Founder Pumpkart while speaking said that some Indian home grown ventures like Flipkart.com, MakeMyTrip, CashKaro, GetMyParking etc are giving head-to-head fight to the global giants like Amazon, Microsoft, Facebook & Google. In the last surveys it has been found that people of North India region specially Punjab are keen to entrepreneurship and start ups.
Poonia further said that to bring more reforms in technical education in the country, Ministry is planning to make 20% education online and digital through SWAYAM (Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds), MOOC (Massive open online course) etc. To enhance the entrepreneurship skills and start ups in rural areas & villages under its new scheme Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana.
