GJIMT organized a fun filled tour of City Beautiful Chandigarh for its International students. Students from overseas enjoyed the city tour and shared the cultural beliefs of their countries with the Indian students. They visited route which covers all the important tourist places in the city, like Museum & Art Gallery, Sukhna Lake, and Rose Garden Etc. Students were dressed in their respective country attires. Students from Tanzania, Nepal, Uganda, Zimbabwe and South Africa provided previews of the cultural heritage of their respective countries. Students were in full fun filled mood and they sang many of their country songs and shared their interests and hobbies. Dr. Aneet Bedi, Director, GJIMT said that International students’ day symbolizes the celebration of unity in diversity and promotion of acceptance and appreciation for other cultures. Dr. Bedi added that we try to build strong bonds with our international students so that they should not feel homesick and can share their thoughts with their local friends. Chairman J.S.Bedi said that such activities not only strengthen the bonds between fellow students & teachers but also with the city.
