More than 1400 companies participating in 2nd State level job fairs

Punjab Government organizing job fairs at 30 different places across the state

Technical Education & Industrial Training Minister Charanjit Channi inaugurates the Second State level Job Fairs at Chandigarh University, Gharuan

The Punjab Technical Education Minister Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi inaugurated the 2nd State Level Mega Job Fair today at Chandigarh University Gharuan which are being organized under the Ghar Ghar Rozgar mission of the Punjab Government. During a inaugural address Mr. Channi said that Punjab government would provide maximum employment opportunities to youngsters and jobs would be given to 50 thousand unemployed youngsters during the 2nd State level Job.
The Minister said that job fairs would even continue after 8th March after the formal completion of first phase of 2nd State Level Job Fairs.
The Technical Education Minister in his speech said that in the leadership of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, the Punjab Government is working in a working on all alternative ways to provide employment to the youth of Punjab, besides providing government jobs.
The Minister said that in the 2nd State level Mega Job Fairs more than 1400 companies from various fields have registered with the Punjab Government to provide to the youth of Punjab. He said that total 140 events would be organized during these Job Fairs at 30 different places in the State.
He further said that last year 27500 youngsters got jobs during the job fairs organized by the Punjab government and this year till now various companies have came with the proposals to provide 35 thousand jobs till now and this number increase in the coming days.
Mr. Channi appealed to the youth of Punjab to make them Skill fully skilled as there are lots of job opportunities for skilled people but the companies are not getting skilled persons as per their needs. He said that the Punjab Government is working on the formula to fill the academic and training gap to make the youth skilled as per requirements of the present and the future needs of the national and global industry.
Addressing the gathering Bhawna Garg, Secretary, Technical Education Department, Punjab said that the government with the aim to provide employment under Ghar Ghar Rozgar Scheme an Online Portal has been launched. She said that unemployed youngsters must register themselves on this portal and create awareness about this Portal among their friend circle also. She said that the government would regularly share the information of the skilled youth registered on the youth with the industry to provide jobs. He said that maximum people would avail the benefits of this facility.
Chancellor of Chandigarh University, Gharuan, S. Satnam Singh Sandhu said that he is Thankful to Punjab Government for selecting this University for the inauguration of State Level Job Fairs. He said that Punjab Government is the first State Government among other State Governments of India, which has started these Job Fairs to facilitate the unemployed Youth. More than 60 companies would take part in the job fair being organized at Chandigarh University, Gharuan.
Other amongst present on the occasion included Additional Director Technical Education Department Mr. Mohanvir Singh, Deputy Director (Administration) Damandeep Kaur and representatives of various companies.
