The victim has been identified as Phul Kumar (32), who was working in Industrial Area here. The accused, Sapna and Kumar were married around six years ago and they had involved in several fights for past few months, said the police. The incident took place around 2.30 am. On getting the information of murder from victim’s brother, Sri Pal, police reached the spot and recovered the dead body of Kumar. Few hours later, police arrested his wife, Sapna from her house. “Sapna was working as a servant in residential areas here. The fight between the couple leads to Kumar’s death. Kumar had two children,” said Inspector Rajiv Kumar, the investigation officer. A case of murder has been registered against Sapna on the statement of victim’s brother, Sri Pal. The accused was produced in the local court today which has sent him to one-day police remand. On the other side, Sri Pal raised the questions on the police investigation saying that an accomplice of Sapna was also allegedly involved in the murder. “The woman cannot kill him alone. Her male friend, who also lives in the same building may be involved in this crime. The police have not even checked the call details of Sapna who had regular talks with her friend,” said the complainant. Inspector Rajiv Kumar denied all allegations by saying “We have investigated the case thoroughly and found that no one was involved in the murder except victim’s wife.”
