Balbir Singh Sidhu today laid the foundation stone of development works at Phase 8 Police Housing Complex here. He said that Rs 24 lakh would be spent on the development of roads, paving blocks and parks in the police colony which would be conducted by the Municipal Corporation. Speaking on the occasion, Sidhu said that the families of the victims of terrorism also live in this colony. Police personnel have sacrificed their lives to eradicate terrorism from Punjab and restore peace in the state. He said that all round development of the police colony and provision of basic amenities to the police families would be the true tribute to the martyrs. Amarjit Singh Jiti Sidhu, Chairman District Cooperative Bank, Kamal Garg, Municipal Commissioner, Kuljit Singh Bedi, Former Councilor, Mukesh Garg, DSP Deep Kamal, Rajnish Chaudhary, SHO of Phase 8 police station, Gurdhian Singh Durali, Senior Congress Leader, Bhagat Singh Namdhari, Kamalpreet Singh Other dignitaries present included Bunny, Gurmukh Singh, Avtar Singh Kumbhra, Anand Rakesh Lakhotra and Inderjit Singh were also present on the occasion today.
