Cattle pound to come up in 10 acres at Balongi

Cabinet Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu today laid the foundation stone of “Bal Gopal Gau Basera” which is to come up in 10 acres of land leased by Gram Panchyat at village Balongi .
Member Parliament Manish Tewari, SSP Satinder Singh, Vice Chancellor Guru Angad Dev Veterinary And Animal Sciences University Ludhiana Dr. Inderjit, Swami Chinnamian Nand Kamadhenu, Gaushala Noormahil Jalandhar, Swami Gurkripa Nand and a large number of local dignitaries were present on the occasion.
Addressing on the occasion , Balbir Singh Sidhu said that Bal Gopal Gau Basera would be constructed in line with modern cattle pounds for which expert advice would be sought. The stray animals roaming in the city will be kept and cared for in appropriate housing conditions with the separate enclosures for healthy and sick cattle. Cattle breeding will be undertaken with the advice of experts. He said that a special place for stray dogs would also be set up in the cow shelter. He said that after the completion of the construction of Bal Gopal Gau Basera, there would be no problem of housing stray animals in the city. He thanked all the industrialists of Mohali who have come forward to share the construction and operational charges of the cattle pound. He thanked the Gram Panchayat of village Balongi for leasing 10 acres of land for 33 years for the care and look after of stray animals.
On the occasion Mr. Manish Tewari Member Lok Sabha congratulated the people of Mohali and said that setting up a cattle pound was a commendable step by the people of Mohali, for the people of Mohali . It will be a cow shelter of its kind in Punjab , said he and added that that other Gaushala operators will also seek guidance of this state of art gaushala.
SSP Satinder Singh said that with the construction of cattle pound not only the stray animals would be taken care of but also the number of accidents involving stray animals on the roads would be reduced.
Swami Chinnamya Nand, shared detailed information about the care and look after of cows. Vice Chancellor Dr. Inderjit also shared information about the breeding and care of the animals.
Earlier, according to religious rites, a hawan was performed and prayers were offered by Pathi Singh to start the formal work of Bal Gopal Gau Basera.
Mr. Harkesh Chand Sharma, Political Advisor to the Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Sh. Mr. Amarjit Singh Jiti Sidhu Chairman Cooperative Bank, SDM Mr. Jagdeep Sehgal, DDPO Mr. DK Saldi, and a large number of urban dignitaries including Kuljit Singh Bedi, Advocate Kanwarbir Singh Sidhu, Rishab Jain, Raja Kanwarjot Singh Mohali, Pawan Dewan, Bahadur Singh Sarpanch of village Balongi were also present on the occasion.
