Man commits suicide, case filed against wife and mother-in-law

Sohana police have booked wife and mother-in-law of a 26-year-old man, Hardeep Singh, who allegedly committed suicide at his house in Manauli village here last night.
The accused have been identified as Gurwinder Kaur and Karamjit Kaur, both residents of Kumbra village here.
The victim’s father, Balwinder Singh said to the police in his complaint that Hardeep was married in 2017 and started living separately with his wife, Gurwinder Kaur. Few months after their marriage, the couple had many disputes between them. Since last four months, Gurwinder Kaur got pregnant and was living with at her mother’s house in Kumbra. Hardeep used to met his wife at Kumbra many times, said Balwinder Singh.
On Friday, Balwinder Singh came to know from the villagers that Hardeep got sick and when he went there to visit him, he found his son dead lying on the bed. The neighbors told him that Hardeep committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling fan. A suicide note was also recovered from the victim in which he had written that his wife and mother-in-law were torturing him for the past couple of days following which he was forced to take the extreme step.
ASI Sanjay Kumar, the investigation officer said, “We have registered a case under Section 306 of the IPC against both the women. They are at large but we will arrest them soon. The post mortem of the victim was conducted today.”
