District Magistrate Girish Dayalan orders night curfew in the District

Penalty for not wearing masks has been increased from Rs 500 to Rs 1000

Nabaz-e-Punjab Bureau, SAS Nagar, December 1:
With compliance to the orders issued by the Department of Home, Government of Punjab (DoH, GoP), District Magistrate Girish Dayalan ordered the imposition of night curfew from 10 pm to 5 am in the district from 1.12.2020. With the new restrictions, the penalty for not wearing masks has been increased from Rs. 500 to Rs. 1000.
DM Girish Dayalan informed that the movement of individuals for all the non-essential activities shall remain prohibited between 10:00 pm to 5:00 am with in the municipal limits of city and the all towns.
However essential activities including operation of multiple shifts in industry, Offices both Government and private etc., movement of persons and goods on National and State Highways and unloading of cargo and travel of persons to their destinations after disembarking from buses, trains, and aeroplanes will be permitted.
All the Hotels and other Hospitality units, Restaurant and Marriage Palaces including restaurant/hotels within shopping malls/multiplexes shall shut down by 9:30 pm.
Further Mr Dayalan said that the SSP, SDM’s, Civil Surgeon, Commissioner, MC, all EOs, shall ensure strict compliance of social distancing i.e. 6 feet distance for all the activities.
The above said authorities shall also ensure the wearing of masks, not spitting and frequent use of handwash/sanitizer by all persons in public places including work places etc. and also regular sanitising of all the public/workplaces by the authorities concerned will be mandatory and must be strictly observed and enforced.
Dm said that the Penalty for not wearing masks and spitting in public places has been enhanced from Rs. 500 to Rs 1000 for each violation.
Any violations shall invite criminal proceedings under the relevant provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 and the Indian Penal Code, 1860.
