Farmers returning from Delhi protest met with road mishap, 2 died, 10 injured

Nabaz-e-Punjab, Mohali, December 14:
Two persons died while 10 got injured, after a pickup truck on which they were traveling collided with a truck laden with gravel, near Bhagomajra village here.
The incident took place at around 10 pm when all of them were coming back after taking part in the massive protest of farmers at Delhi border.
The died persons have been identified as Sukhdev Singh (63), resident of Dhadlian village in Fathehgarh Sahib and Deep Singh (80) of village Popilian in Mohali district. All injured were rushed to civil hospital in Phase-6, where both of them were declared brought dead while the rest undergoing their treatment.
As per the police, the truck lost its control after the collision and overturned following which the gravel scattered on the road, leading to traffic jam.
The passengers were farmers and had went to Delhi on Saturday to participate in the protest.
Harvinder Singh Virk, Superintendent of Police (city), “The injured persons were admitted to the hospital through the ambulance. We are investigating the case. The case will be registered against the truck driver at the Sohana police station.”
