Mohali police solved robbery case within 48 hours, 2 accused arrested

Sh. Satinderpal Singh, SSP, SAS Nagar briefed through press note that CIA, SAS Nagar successfully traced a snatching case within 48 hours by arresting 2 persons and recovered the full amount. He further briefed that as per the complaint given by one Gurpreet Singh (30 years) s/o Krishan Singh r/o Vill. Jawaharpur, PS Dera Bassi, Distt. SAS Nagar is working as a driver of Mahindra pick-up in Krypton Polymer Company, Vill. Jawaharpur, Dera Bassi, case FIR No. 55, dated 17/02/2021 u/s 379-B, 341, 34 IPC, 25 Arms Act was registered against 3 unknown persons who were travelling in Swift car. Gurpreet Singh informed police that on 17/02/2021 at around 1:00 pm, he went to G.B Enterprises factory located in Vill. Ghataur on Kharar-Kurali road on Mahindra pick-up No. PB 65 AB 7621. After unloading goods, he took payment of Rs. 1,00,000/-. While he was returning to Dera Bassi through Landran-Banur road, at around 1:45 pm after reaching Derri, 3 unknown persons travelling in a swift car stopped his Mahindra pick-up and smashed the glass of window with an iron rod and took him out and threatened him by showing a weapon. They took the payment kept in the dashboard of Mahindra pick-up and fled away along with his mobile phone and car keys.

Following the statement given by complainant Gurpreet

Singh case was registered. Under the supervision of Sh. Harmandeep Singh Hans, SP (D) and Sh. Gurcharan Singh DSP (D), a team headed by Insp. Gurmail Singh, Incharge, CIA SAS Nagar was formed. After a thorough investigation, the case was successfully traced within 2 days by arresting 2 accused viz. Gurpreet Singh and Maninder Singh @ Gabbar and also recovered the full amount Rs. 1,00,000/-.

During the interrogation of accused Gurpreet Singh (30 years) s/o Krishan Singh r/o Vill. Jawaharpur, PS Dera Bassi, Distt. SAS Nagar and Maninder Singh @ Gabbar (22/23 years) s/o Surinder Singh r/o Vill. Jawaharpur, PS Dera Bassi, Distt. SAS Nagar admitted that Gurpreet Singh planned the whole incident. 1 year ago, Gurpreet Singh bought a new i20 car and he was also fond of travelling. As a driver in the company, he could not afford his living due to less salary. Due to which he planned the incident along with Maninder Singh @ Gabbar and told him that on 17/02/2021 he would go to unload goods in Vill. Ghataur and in return will bring the payment of goods. As per the plan, Gurpreet Singh on his way back from Vill. Ghataur called Maninder and told him to come near Derri. After reaching Derri, he handed over the payment of Rs. 1,00,000/- to Maninder and send him back. After that, he broke the window with the spare part (Panna) and called his boss. He gave false information to the police and got the case registered against the unknown. The arrested accused are being questioned and the case is under investigation.
