RECRUITMENT SCAM: all accused on police remand: BK Uppal

In order to weed out the corruption from the state, Punjab Vigilance bureau today has obtained three days Police Remand of the recruitment scam accused Pirthipal Singh, Multipurpose Health Worker posted at Primary Health Centre village Dhotian, his accomplice Malkiat Singh resident of village Varpal, Amritsar (rural), Sukhwant Singh resident of village Jhita Kalan and Harpal Singh Sarpanch of village Kad Gill.
Disclosing this here today, Chief Director-cum-D.G.P of Vigilance Bureau B.K. Uppal said during the probe, it came to light that Sukhwant Singh who is the kingpin of this gang, was involved in the case FIR No.192 dated 21.11.2020 which was registered on the basis of the statement of Maanpreet Singh r/o Budhlada, against him and his accomplices Tarsem Lal r/o village Changali, Ferozepur, Balwinder Singh r/o Namdev Chowk, Ferozepur, Ajit Pratap Singh r/o New Rachna Nagar, Gwalior at police station Budhlada, Mansa district under different Sections 420,467,468,471 and 120-B of IPC.
He further informed that in this case, Rs. 75 Lacs was duped from 30 job aspirants on pretext of recruitment in FCI & Railways. Therefore, Sukhwant Singh was explicitly involved in this case, but when the job aspirants had raised hue & cry, he fraudulently got registered the instant FIR against his fellow co-accused Tarsem Lal & others, by posing as witness whereas Sukhwant Singh was very much part & parcel of this gang.
Furthermore, he revealed that Dominic Sahota would be taken on Production Warrant by the VB in the instant case who is presently lodged in Ropar Jail in the case FIR No. 7/2021 which was registered against him at police station phase I, Mohali u/s 364-A, 34 IPC & 25/54/59 Arms Act.
Notably, Chief Director of VB stated that Dominic Sahota had got 4 persons recruited in BSF by getting their written test & medical examination cleared and he had taken Rs.2,80,000 from each aspirant. He added that Dominic Sahota kept Rs. 2.5 lacs per head with him and gave Rs.30,000 per head to Malkiat Singh. Besides this, he added that Dominic Sahota was administering various private firms, which are being verified. Moreover, Dominic Sahota has distributed fake identity cards of his Firm namely ‘ SPECIAL DEFENCE PERSONNEL FORUM’ to his sub agents such as Malkiat Singh and fake ID card has been recovered from Malkiat Singh. In this connection, numerous revelations are expected during interrogation of him with regard to candidates who were duped or got recruited by Dominic Sahota.

Sharing more details he said that the scrutiny of mobile phones of the aforesaid accused has revealed that they all have drafted numerous advertisements with regard to various jobs on their ‘WHATSAPP’ to lure innocent job aspirants in their trap.
Furthermore, he highlighted that Harpal Singh Sarpanch had disclosed of having duped seven innocent job seekers on the pretext of providing them government jobs. As of now, this whole gang has duped about 50 innocent job seekers on pretext of providing government jobs to them and it is expected that this gang would make more such disclosures in the coming days.
In this regard, the interrogation process of these aforesaid accused is underway and numerous revelations are expected to come out. This case has been registered at police station Vigilance Bureau, Amritsar u/s 7 Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, As amended by PC(Amendment) Act 2018, Section 420/120-B and investigation is still going on.
