Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Share on Pinterest Share on Linkedin AAP government suspends four agriculture officials for dereliction of duty Adopting zero-tolerance policy against stubble burning Nabaz-e-Punjab Bureau, Chandigarh\Mohali, October 30: In consonance with the commitment of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to combat stubble burning, the Agriculture Department on Sunday suspended four erring officials after detecting the stubble burning incidents in the different districts of the state. The Punjab government led by CM Bhagwant Mann has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against stubble-burning cases this time and has been vehemently organizing campaigns to sensitize farmers to not burn the stubble across the state. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann categorically asked the agriculture officials to work gingerly at grassroots level and ensure that crop residue is not set ablaze in their farms. But the government found these officers not rendering services with adherence to the directions. Following directions from CM Bhagwant Mann, the Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal have placed four agricultural officials under suspension with immediate effect for dereliction of duty. The suspended officials include Chief Agriculture Officer, Sangrur Harbans Singh, Agriculture Officer, Samana Patiala Satish Kumar, Agriculture Officer, Chohla Sahib, Tarn Taran Harpal Singh, Agriculture Officer, Patti, Taran Taran Bhupinder Singh is involved. The spokesperson said that during the suspension period, these officials will report to the office of the Director of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, SAS Nagar (Mohali). He further informed that during the suspension these officials will be given the allowance as per rules/instructions.
