Agriculture students of Aryans celebrates National Farmer’s Day

Nabaz-e-Punjab Bureau, Mohali, 22nd December:
To promote & increase the active participation of women in agriculture sector, girl students of Agriculture Department of Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh celebrated National Farmer’s Day.
Students while interacting with the farmers told their importance that how they grow crops with great difficulty and burnt skin to feed all of us but themselves remain backward and wretched.
Mr. Dhiraj Mehta, HoD, Agri Dept while interacting with the students told them importance of climatic changes in Punjab, seasonal crops, new scientific methods, new breeds, organic farming etc.
Students were told about the important role and contribution of women in various aspects of agriculture including sowing, planting, fertilizing, plant protection, harvesting, weeding, and storage.
Farmer’s day is celebrated every year on 23rd December to mark the celebration of Birthday of Indian farmers leader late Chaudhary Charan Singh. The day assesses the important role of farmers in social and economic development of a country. They need to be helped in education, training, scientific farming, loan, storage and marketing of the products etc.
