Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Share on Pinterest Share on Linkedin AICTE should bring more reforms to revive the Technical Education in the Country: All India Colleges Association Nabaz-e-Punjab Bureau, Mohali, 10th November: A delegation of All India Federation of Self Financing Technical Institutions (AIFSFTI) under the leadership of President, Dr. Anshu Kataria; Chief Patron, Sri R.S Munirathinam; General Secretary, Sri KVK Rao recently met with Prof. Anil Sahasrabudhe, Hon’ble Chairman, AICTE, New Delhi. Reforms in Approval Process Handbook in 2018-19: The delegation urged AICTE that keeping the quality of education in mind, AICTE should come up with more educational reforms in the Approval Process Handbook in 2018-19 to revive the education sector in the Country. Fresh Reforms to boost up the Colleges: Dr. Anshu Kataria while speaking said that as per the records in 2016-17, the intake in Diploma/Post Diploma was 12,93,843; in Engineering and Technology- 17,52,296; in Management- 3,29,273; in Pharmacy- 3,29,273; in Architecture- 9,936; in Hotel Management- 6,109. Knowing the fact that half of the seats remained vacant in last year, AICTE should adopt fresh reforms to revive and boost up the Colleges in the Country. More emphasis on digital technology than other resources: Dr. Anshu Kataria while speaking on the occasion said that though land, building, library etc are also important but AICTE should not emphasize more on these. We are living in the age of Information Technology where smart phones, laptops, tabs etc are bigger infrastructure hence AICTE should emphasize on these smart technologies so that the students can access their curriculum anywhere and everywhere easily. Faculty Ratio: Sri RS Munirathinam, Chief Patron while discussing about faculty ratio said that KAW committee has recommended faculty ratio as 1:25, where in AICTE, the prescribed ratio is 1:15. Munirathinam requested AICTE chairman to consider the request of KAW committee and fix the faculty ratio as 1:25. Uniformity in AICTE: Sri K V K Rao while speaking on the occasion said that the norms of Pharmacy Council and Architecture Council overlap with that of AICTE. Hence AICTE should bring uniformity within the system. Sri Srini Bhupalam (Telangana), Sri Panduranga Shetty (Karnataka), Sri P Selvaraj (Tamil Nadu), Mr. Lalit Aggarwal (Delhi), Sri K V K Rao (Andhra Pradesh), Sh. T D Esawara Moorthy (Tamil Nadu), Sh. K G Madhu (Kerala), Sh. Rajeev Chand (Maharashtra), Sh. Shridhar Singh (Rajasthan), Sh. Sridhar (Andhra Pradesh), Sh. Purushotam Sharma (HP), Director PRO etc were also present.
