The retired senior Vets association has strongly condemned the Punjab government for not appointing the Director of the animal husbandry department. The post has been lying vacant since 30th September, when Dr Gurpal Singh Walia retired. The dithering on the part of the Government is mind boggling. A meeting of senior retired Vets was held here today during which a panel consisting of Dr Nitin Kumar, Dr Gurinder Singh Walia, Dr Deshdeepak, Dr Nirmaljit Singh, Dr Bimal Kumar and Dr Raghunandan Sharma was formed to help the retired Vets get their dues. Due to absence of Director, the work of the department has come to screeching halt and the retired officers are bereft of their legid retiral benefits like final GPF payment, leave encashment, NDC (no due certificate) , forwarding of pension cases to Accountant General, Punjab. Retired Senior Vets association has demanded that out of senior officers of the department who were quite conversant with the ground realities, an incumbent should be given the charge of Director, so that retired officers get their dues at the earliest.
