40 candidates of Azad Group, including former Mayor and Azad Group leader Kulwant Singh, filed nomination papers in a very simple manner. Speaking on the occasion, Kulwant Singh said that since the farmers have been fighting for their rights for the last several months, it is not appropriate to file papers on such occasions with pomp & show. He said that every member of the Azad Group wholeheartedly supports this struggle of farmers against the oppressive laws meant to destroy farming.
He said that the Modi government at the Center is doing injustice to the struggling farmers in a peaceful manner and is conspiring to tame the democratic rights of the farmers at the behest of the police force.
Kulwant Singh said that all the candidates of Azad Group are impeccable and they are contesting only on the issue of development. On 14 February, he appealed to the people of Mohali to win maximum votes and win all the candidates of the Azad Group so that the development of Mohali can be more than the last 5 years. He said that after the victory, the entire team of Azad Group will make Mohali the most beautiful city.
