Centre Government should withdraw new agriculture laws as soon as possible: Manish Tewari

Manish Tewari, Member Lok Sabha from Sri Anandpur Sahib, has appealed to the Union Government to withdraw the new Agriculture laws as soon as possible in the interest of the farmers. He said that the Congress party had been opposing these laws from the very beginning when they were in the form of an ordinance, when they were passed by the Parliament even when they were sent for the President approval. MP Tewari was talking to reporters on the occasion of opening the 5 km stretch of Kharar flyover for the public.
Replying to a media query, Tewari said that the Congress party believes these laws to be against the farmers and has strongly opposed them. He appealed to the Union government to repeal these laws as soon as possible fearing that the agitation would spread across the country and may have serious repercussions.
Regarding the Kharar flyover, he said that 5 km stretch of 10.63 km long flyover has been opened to the public. The rest will be opened by January 15. He said that the total project was cost is to the tune of about Rs. 368 crore.
Among others present on the occasion were Chairman Punjab Large Industrial Development Board ,Pawan Dewan, SDM Himanshu Jain, Tehsildar Puneet Bansal and DSP Kharar Rupinderdeep Kaur Sohi.
