Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Share on Pinterest Share on Linkedin CGC jhanjeri Students Celebrate Diwali with Soldiers at PRC Mohali Nabaz-e-Punjab Bureau, Mohali, 20 October: NCC unit of Chandigarh Group Colleges Jhanjeri organized an event at Paraplegic Rehabilitation Centre (PRC) Mohali as a gesture of goodwill and moral support to soldiers who became disabled during various wars. This centre houses national heroes who lost some of their limbs during wars. Most of these brave soldiers are now confined to wheel chairs. The theme of the event was Sandesh 2 Soldiers. The event started with an enthusiastic message by Cadet Harshdeep Singh followed by a Welcome dance Durga Stuti performed by the Senior Wing NCC Cadets. Two skits with the theme of National Integration & Terrorism were performed by the students. Later, a play was staged depicting importance of the festivals and their roles in bonding the individuals of a Nation and help in Nation Building. The cadets & soldiers joined the “Diwa Lighting” ceremony when all the cadets came forward and lit candles and diyas. One of the soldiers shared his experience by quoting a few lines to add icing over the cake. Mementoes were also presented to all the brave soldiers at the moment. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC conveyed his greetings to the brave soldiers of the PR Centre and said that we live in our homes peacefully because our soldiers are safeguarding our borders and making big sacrifices for us.
