Senior Akali leaders, Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa and Ranjit Singh Brahmpura, who have dissolved their political outfits, are likely to set up a new political outfit on Monday, May 3. In a press communique issued here, Senior SAD (Taksali-Akali leader, Karnail Singh Peermohammad also confirmed that both leaders are likely to announce a new political outfit on Monday. It is a welcome move to save Punjab from the clutches of the two traditional parties who have been ruling over the state for decades turn by turn and have devastated it,” said Karnal Singh Peermohammad. Some other senior leaders like Navjot Singh Sidhu, Sukhpal Singh Khaira, Bains Brothers, Pargat Singh, and Dharamvir Gandhi may also be approached to join the new political outfit. Mr. Peermohammad further said that both the senior leaders have in principle agreed to form the new political outfit and the people of Punjab are already excited about it. “They want to get rid of Badals and Congress and it would be in the larger interest of the state that all the leaders from like-minded parties like Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), AAP, and others come on the common platform,” Peermohammad said. “Though the government has put up many restrictions due to Covid-19, yet it is not an excuse for us to sit idle and waste time. It is the appropriate time to do something for the betterment of Punjab. So our leaders are very serious to provide all like-minded parties a common platform to fight against the traditional political parties,” Peermohammad said. The Akali veterans are also keeping a close tab on the latest developments in congress in which Captain Amarinder Singh and Navjot Singh are fighting a war of words. After the High Court quashed the SIT investigating the Behbal and Kotkapura firing cases and Sacrilege cases, Navjot Singh Sidhu has upped his attack on the CM for his failure to get justice to the people. If the new front succeeds to attract senior leaders from like-minded parties, it may change the political equations in the state elections due in February 2022. Dhindsa and Brahmpura congratulated all the TMC workers, including the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who have won the elections against the traditional parties, those who practice politics under the guise of religion and communalism have suffered a humiliating defeat. Now the Punjab people should learn from this that such a political party has no entry in Punjab. Besides, those who have been in the BJP alliance for ten years, who disrespected the Guru Granth Sahib, should also be sidelined,”Dhindsa and Brahmpura said so in a press communique”.
