Four ventilators each have been provided to Max and Fortis hospital Mohali, to be pressed into operation with immediate effect for the COVID patients, informed Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan. He informed that the ventilators were received under PMCARES but were not operationalised due to technical issues. Accordingly, these ventilators were lying unutilised. These ventilators were to be used in the Mohali Medical College; the process of human resource recruitment and infrastructure structure creation is on but while the faculty joins and other things are put in place , making optimum use of the machines, they have been handed over to private hospitals for the time being to meet the challenge posed by surge in pandemic.
