Excise and Taxation Department, Punjab Initiates Comprehensive GST Registration Drive for Dealers

Nabaz-e-Punjab, Mohali, January 10, 2025:
The Excise and Taxation Department has launched a month-long GST Registration Drive, effective from January 10, 2025, to February 10, 2025. The initiative aims to ensure that all dealers liable for Goods and Services Tax (GST) registration are brought under the GST framework. This step is part of the department’s efforts to enhance compliance and broaden the tax base.

On the first day of the drive, officials from the Mohali district visited 85 dealers across the district. Their proactive efforts resulted in the initiation of GST registration for 24 dealers. The department is committed to identifying and assisting all liable dealers during this campaign to ensure seamless registration. The drive aims primarily at identification and registration of service sector dealers.

The drive will continue throughout the month, focusing on:
• Raising awareness about the importance of GST registration.
• Ensuring compliance with GST laws.
• Assisting dealers with the registration process to avoid penalties.

The Excise and Taxation Department urges all unregistered dealers liable under GST to come forward and complete their registration at the earliest. The department is available to provide support and guidance throughout the process.
For further details or assistance regarding GST registration, dealers are encouraged to visit their respective district offices or access resources on the department’s official website.
