The Minister has sought a comprehensive report from the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) Mr. Kuldeep Kumar within 3 days. The Minister said that it is very unfortunate to construct a road stretching 15 KM from Himachal Pradesh to Punjab by illegally cutting off trees belonging to forest department without prior permission. He categorically said that any person found guilty in the probe report would not be spared at any cost. Mr. Dharmsot said that the illegal encroachments on the forest department land would not be tolerated. He further said that the drive is already underway to free the lands belonging to the department from illegal encroachments. He also revealed that the every inch of forest department land would be possessed back with the assistance of the Revenue department and saplings of various types would be planted on them. The Minister further elaborated that the Government under the leadership of Captain Amarinder Singh is committed to lifting of all the illegal encroachments of government land by every mafia and such incidents would be strictly dealt with.
