The victims have been identified as Parvati (20), Sonia (29) and Mahinder (35). The police have booked 5 suspects in the case of Mahinder. In the first case, Parvati, ended her life today around 11 am by hanging herself from a fan ceiling at her house in Kansal, Nayagaon. The vicitm’s husband, Krishan stated that she was upset for last couple of months following domestic dispute. In the second case, Sonia committed suicide last night around 9 pm after hanging from a fan ceiling at her house in Shivalik Vihar, Nayagaon. The victim’s brother, Naveen said in his complaint that Sonia was under mental stress as her husband, Sunil, was facing a huge loss in his buisness for the last couple of months. No suicide notes were recovered from both the victims and police have initiated inquest proceedings under Section 174 of the CrPC in both the matters. In the third case, the victim, Mahinder allegedly committed suicide after jumping from the building of a shop in Nayagaon around 1 am last night. The victims’ wife, Ranjeeta said to the police that Mahinder was working as a car painter here. One of his known, Ajay, a resident of Janta Colony in Nayagaon, owed him of Rs 2 lakh, and Ajay was not returning the money to him following which he had been under depression. The victim said, on Sunday, Ajay came to their house with four of his accomplices and abused Mahinder following which a scuffle broke out between them. Ajay and his accomplices fled from their house after assaulting Mahinder. Few hours after this incident, Mahinder went outside his house and jumped down from the shop following which he sustained severe head injuries, she said. On getting the information, Mahinder was taken to GMSH, Sector 16, Chandigarh, where doctors declared him brought dead. The police have also recovered a suicide note from his possession in which Mahinder mentioned that Ajay and his accomplices were responsible for his suicide, who had not paid his amount for the past two years. The Nayagaon police have booked Ajay along with four unidentified persons in this connection under Sections 306 and 34 of the IPC. Mahinder is survived by his wife and two daughters.
