The police also recovered three cars, three bikes, an illegal weapon and drugs from their possession. The arrested suspects have been identified as Sagar, a resident of Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh, Kishan, a resident of Ramdarbar in Chandigarh, Rahul Kumar and Sukhman Singh, both residents of Lalru Mandi in Mohali. Mohali Superintendent of Police (City) HS Virk informed during a press conference here today that the Phase 11 police team along with CIA (Crime Investigation Agency) arrested the suspects and done major recoveries from their possession. According to the police, on October 17, a blockade was laid by the Phase 11 police team on Railway station road in Industrial Area Phase 9 here to conduct the checking of vehicles. In the meantime, Sagar was walking towards the blockade from railway station side and was carrying a handbag with him. On seeing the cops, Sagar turned back following which the cops nabbed him under suspicion. On checking his handbag, the police recovered 200 gram marijuana, two daggers, a hand metal cutter, four keys of vehicles and four mobile phones. During his questioning, the police arrested Kishan and a Hyundai Accent car, a TVS Apache bike, 13 intoxicated injections and a LCD were recovered from his possession. During further investigation, the names of other two suspects, Rahul and Sukhman, were revealed and the cops nabbed them too on October 19. An Alto car, a Bullet and a Splendor motorcycle, a countrymade .315 pistol along with five live cartridges and two LCDs were recovered from the possession of Rahul while a Zen car and a laptop were recovered from the possession of Sukhman following their arrests, said the SP. All the arrested suspects were produced before a local court today which has sent them to police remand till Friday. A case has been registered against them under Sections 20-61-85 of the NDPS Act, 25 of the Arms Act and 379, 411 of the IPC at the Phase 11 police station.
