Aam Aadmi Party President and Member of Parliament Bhagwant Mann, commenting on the dirty politics being played by Congress, BJP and Shiromani Akali Dal stated, “the whole drama being done by central minister Hardeep Puri over the role of Harsimrat Kaur Badal in the passing of the farm laws and Sukhbir Badal’s comment against it is nothing but an attempt to torpedo the protests being done by farmer.”
Issuing a statement from party headquarters here in Chandigarh, Bhagwant Mann said that Sukhbir Badal and Hardeep Singh Puri ‘s attempt to mislead the people of Punjab and gain political gains will fail, as the people of Punjab now have become more aware. He also said that Aam Aadmi Party and all Kisan Unions want the minutes of the cabinet meeting to be made public, this will make it clear as to who played what role in the passing of these black laws.
Bhagwant Mann said that Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) is BJP’s B-Team and Congress is it’s support team. The only thing that these parties want is to keep giving statements and torpedo the protests of the farmers. Mann said that these parties have no need to issue such statements as both—Harsimrat Badal and Hardeep Puri—were present in the meeting, if they want they can make the minutes public, this will make it clear if Harsimrat Kaur Badal is for the farmers or against it.
If Harsimrat Kaur Badal had opposed the bill when it was tabled, then they should show at least one interview or one news report in which they have opposed the laws. “Forget opposing the bill, Sukhbir and Harsimrat Badal both invited BJP leaders to Punjab to speak in favour of this bill. Instead of opposing the bill, they asked the farmers to go with them to the central government to clarify their doubt” said Mann.
Calling the Badal’s campaign a lie campaign, Bhagwant Mann said that the Badals are trying to convince the people of Punjab that they were always against the bill out of fear of the Kisan Union Protests. They are trying to repeat a lie to make it a truth, but the people of Punjab now know that the Badals were never against the bill and are now just doing drama.
Attacking Amarinder Singh, Bhagwant Mann said that he would commence a special session to oppose the farm laws but as he is prone to his old habit of lying, he has not called a special session yet as he sees no need in it because the bill has already been passed. Mann said that if Amarinder Singh is serious about the farmers of Punjab then he must call a special session immediately and declare Punjab a market so that the farmers get what is their right.
He added that Aam Aadmi Party has just one goal which is to make the farmer protests stronger and to make all efforts to revoke this anti-farmer bills.
