Passports Investigation: Head Constable and Constable dismissed

Mohali police have arrested two constables who were allegedly involved in forgery of documents in a Zirakpur based society here. The constables were allegedly approving the documents including passports through fake documentation.
Mohali SSP Satinder Singh informed through a press note that counterfeit documents such as Adhar card, PAN Card & certificates against invalid names bearing address of societies under jurisdiction of Zirakpur station were used for getting passports.
These passports were recommended by passport verifying worker Constable Rajinder Singh No. 1176/SAS Nagar along with help from Constable Sukhwant Singh stationed Zirakpur station. Sukhwant Singh had contacts with Raman Kumar s/o Som Prakash resident Flat No. 05, Block A1, Gulmohar Extension, Derabassi who was engaged in producing passports.
A fir bearing no. 410 dt 28/10 u/s 420,421,466,467,468,471,167,120B IPC and 12 passport act and 7,8,13(2) 1988 PC act at station Zirakpur is filed. Till now 41 passports are found produced against counterfeit documents. Raju alias Raj Kumar alias Raju Basaudi s/o Jila Singh resident of Purani Basaudi district Sonipat Haryana, absconding, a known gangster was also provided with a passport by them against name of Gurbir Singh s/o Balwant singh resident flat no. 337, Top floor, Block D, Nirmal Chaiya, VIP road,Zirakpur. Constable Rajinder Singh, Constable Sukhwant Singh and Raman Kumar are arrested in the aforementioned case. Sukhwant Singh and Rajinder Singh are dismissed from the police duty. Investigation is in progress and further arrests are possible.
