Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Share on Pinterest Share on Linkedin HEALTH MINISTER DIRECTS ALL CIVIL SURGEONS AND SMOs TO PERFORM CLINICAL DUTY ON EVERY SATURDAY UNION GOVERNMENT AWARDS DISTICT HOSPITAL, AMRITSAR AND PATHANKOT FOR QUALITY ASSURANCE AWARD CONFERRED AT CIVIL SURGEONS CONFERENCE, HM ANNOUNCES 2 LAKH EACH FOR THESE 2 HOSPITALS AADHAR CARDS FACILITY BE EXTENDED TO THE NEW BORN BABIES AT THE HOSPITALS, BRAHM MOHINDRA HANDS OVER 300 TABLETS TO THE FIELD STAFF FOR THIS PURPOSE CIVIL SURGEONS DIRECTED TO PERSONALLY VISIT THE SITES OF SUSPECTED DIARRHEA, CHOLERA & CHIKUNGUNYA OUTBREAK Nabaz-e-Punjab Bureau, CHANDIGARH, AUGUST 11: “All Specialists including Civil Surgeons and Senior Medical Officers posted on Non clinical posts will perform clinical duties on every Saturday and they will also perform scheduled surgeries on fixed days in Government hospitals.” It was announced by Mr. Brahm Mohindra while delivering keynote address at the Civil Surgeon’s Review Meeting held at Directorate Health Services, Punjab. This occasion was also decorated with the conferring of National Award to Punjab’s two District Hospitals for achieving high ranks in the Quality Assurance standards set by Government of India. Announcing another significant service delivery programme for the New Born Babies, Mr. Brahm Mohindra said that henceforth Aadhar card facilities would be extended to the new born at the premises of hospitals itself. He said that Heath Department would extend this service as being the Nodal Agency with the coordination of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). Health Minister also handed over 300 tablets to the trained field officer for this purpose. The another pride moment for the Health Department at this meeting, was the conferring of National Award to two District Hospitals, Amritsar and Pathankot for achieving high ranks in the Quality Assurance standards. Mr. Brahm Mohindra while congratulating the concerned Civil Surgeons for their sheer hard word and relentless service said that they are hopeful that Civil Hospital, Nawan Shahr and Civil Hospital, Rajpura would soon register claim for this prestigious award. He said that the program of Quality Assurance that includes 18 departmental long checklists for all district Hospitals throughout India and in this the complete hospital is assessed on pre-defined standards as set by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, GoI. He said that to achieve the award of “National Quality Assurance Certificate” for any hospital is not easy but Punjab could do this for its 2 hospitals, the Jalliawallah Bagh Martyr’s Memorial (JBMM) District Hospital Amritsar (200 bedded) and District Hospital Pathankot (179 bedded) underwent national assessment by 3 empanelled External Assessor’s who came from different parts of India and this happened after the State assessment. Union Government has awarded special grant of Rs. 18 lakh to the Civil Hospital, Pathankot and Rs. 15.50 lakh to the Civil Hospital, Amritsar. Sharing his happiness over this remarkable achievement, Health Minister also announced Rs.2 lakh each to both these hospitals. To handover this prestigious award & certificates to both the hospitals Dr. J N Srivastava, Advisor QI-NHSRC, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, GoI and Dr Sushant Agarwal, Consultant Quality Improvement (QI) – NHSRC, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, GoI, came from New Delhi along with the certificates.’ The other key health programmes which were reviewed during the meeting included Leporsy, Rashtriya Bal Sawathiya Karyakaram RBSK, TB Control Programme, National Blindness Control Programme etc. Prominent amongst those present at the meeting included Ms. Anjali Bhawra, Principal Secretary Health and Family Welfare Punjab, Mr. Varun Roojam, Managing Director- Punjab Health Systems Corporation and Dr Rajiv Bhalla, Director Health Services besides Civil Surgeons from all the districts and other senior officers of the Health Department at state level.
