Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said HC Raja Singh posted in Kapurthala police was nabbed red handed on the complaint of Baljit Singh, reader to Judicial Magistrate Ludhiana. The Complainant has approached the VB and informed that he came into contact with a lady known as Gurvinder Kaur through Facebook, who called him at a flat of her associate Narinder Kaur at Guru Gobind Singh Avenue, Jalandhar on December 29. He added that as per pre-planning, her associate head constable Raja Singh raided that flat and threatened him to register a case under immoral traffic act. The complainant alleged that the accused police official was demanding Rs 2 lakh for not taking any action against him and the deal was struck at Rs. 1 lakh. The spokesperson said the accused lady was also pressurizing the complainant to deliver the promised amount to police official. After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused HC was arrested on the spot taking bribe of Rs. 50,000 as a first installment from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses. He informed that case under prevention of corruption act has been registered against the accused HC and his two women associates at VB police station Jalandhar and further investigations were under progress.
