IKG-PTU, Jalandhar should not cancel the exam centres of Colleges: PUCA

Nabaz-e-Punjab Bureau, Mohali, 22nd November:
Due to the non payment of fees by the Colleges of Punjab to IKG-PTU, Jalandhar, examination centres of many of the Colleges of Punjab have been cancelled by the University. This has led to the lot of confusion between the students and Colleges of Punjab.
It is to be mentioned that over 1200 crore of last 2 years of SC students of Punjab is due towards the Govt. due to which many of the Colleges couldn’t pay Registration fees, Admission fees, Examination fees or other Student Related Funds (SRF) to the University. Due to the non payment of fees by the Colleges, IKG-PTU has cancelled the examination centres of many of the Colleges and decided to shift their exams in other Colleges.
The cancellation of the exam centres would affect around 20,000-30,000 students during the exams and would increase the load of these students in other examination centres.
Dr. Anshu Kataria, President, Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) urged that keeping in mind the interest of the students, University should not change the exam centres of thousands of students. Moreover the University should give time to these Colleges till the State Govt. disburses the scholarship amount and exam centres should not be changed of these students.
