ISSUE OF LAYING PIPES WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF FOREST DEPARTMENT

FOREST MINISTER SEEKS REPORT FROM PRINCIPAL CHIEF CONSERVATOR OF FORESTS IN 3 DAYS

Nabaz-e-Punjab Bureau, CHANDIGARH, MAY 19:
The Forest and Wildlife Preservation Minister, Punjab, S. Sadhu Singh Dharamsot has taken strong notice of the news reports pertaining to laying of irrigation pipelines under forest department’s land in Lambi area of District Shri Mukatsar Sahib, without the prior permission of forest department. The Minister has sought a comprehensive report from the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) Mr. Kuldeep Kumar within 3 days.
The Minister said that it is very unfortunate that the illegal activity has been executed over forest’s land. He categorically said that any person found involved directly or indirectly in assisting the wrongdoers would not be spared at any cost.
Mr. Dharmsot said that the department has already given instructions to the officers that they should ensure the lifting of illegal encroachments over forest department’s land subsequently the plantation drive be executed over this land.
The Minister further elaborated that the Government under the leadership of Captain Amarinder Singh is committed to lift all the illegal encroachments of government land by the land mafia and such incidents are being taken seriously.
