Kaliprasad & Manpreet Kaur declared Best NCC Cadets on Army Day at CGC Jhanjeri

Seventieth Army Day was celebrated in Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri with great enthusiasm. More than 70 NCC students dressed smartly in NCC attire presented an impressive parade. Cadets also presented a beautiful cultural programe in the college auditorium. All the students of the college were so enthusiastic for celebrating this day that the auditorium was not only packed to its capacity but also accommodated hundreds of students standing on both sides & at the back. A brief presentation was given about the history of Indian Army, its role & responsibilities regarding defending our borders on snow covered peaks and in difficult situations were highlighted. A highly motivating skit was presented on some major events post-independence. The cultural programme included dances, songs & dramas presented by students of the college. Senior under Officer Kaliprasad & under Officer Manpreet Kaur were honoured for being the Best Male Cadet & Best Female Cadet respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC said that the entire nation feels indebted to the supreme sacrifices made by our young soldiers. According to him the Army day is celebrated to honor the valiant martyrs who laid down lives while fighting for the sovereignty country. To salute the veterans and the brave soldiers who served the nation in their youth and to renew our solidarity with the Defense Service Personnel of the nation.He further added that Apart from remembering the sacrifices made by the personnel of the armed forces in defending the integrity honor of the nation, this day is also observed to serve three basic purposes, which are rehabilitation of battle casualties, welfare of serving personnel and their families and resettlement and welfare of ex-servicemen.He asked the students to remember about the sacrifices made by the officers and soldiers in defense of our Motherland and we should all develop endurance to face hardship and our youth should serve the country with the same dedication as has been shown by our soldiers.
