Inspector Daljit Singh Station House Officer of Sohana police station said, “The accused, Lakhwinder was produced before the court, which remanded him to three day police custody. The axe, used by him for killing his cousin brother, has been recovered.” A 32-year-old man, Gurwinder Singh, was allegedly hacked to death by his cousin at Kambala village last night. The incident took place around 11 pm on Wednesday night. Gurvinder and Lakhi had gone to a wedding party at their village last night where they got drunk and indulged in heated arguments. While Gurvinder was returning home after attending the function, Lakhi, who was waiting for him on the way, attacked him with an axe and inflicted severe injuries on his neck. He fled the scene leaving Gurvinder in a pool of blood. On the other side, Sohana police have yet to arrest the suspects involved in the murder of Jaspreet Singh alias Billa, a resident of Manimajra and also a suspect in shooting goldsmith in Chandigarh. The dead body of Jaspreet Singh was found inside his car on Nanumajra village road on Wednesday evening. Jaspreet had two bullet marks on his head. Inspector Daljit Singh Station House Officer of Sohana police station said, “We are investigating the matter thoroughly. The suspects will be nabbed soon as we made few teams to crack this case.”
