The accused, identified as, Jaspreet Singh (20), a resident of village Bassian Bahman near Kharar, was produced before a local court today which sent him to three-day police remand. According to the police, Jaspreet had allegedly abducted the victim on Sunday on the pretext of marriage and took her to a hotel in Yamunanagar in Haryana where he allegedly raped her. “On getting the complaint from the victim’s father, we started the search operation and traced the case within 24 hours. The accused and the victim was found by our team at a hotel in Yamunanagar. The accused was nabbed on the spot and the victim was handed over to her family,” said Sub Inspector Gurpreet Singh, SHO of City Kurali police station. A case has been registered against the accused under Sections 363, 366-A and 376 of the IPC and 6 of the POCSO (Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences) Act at the City Kurali police station.
