The accused has been identified as Bhupinder Singh, a resident of Bakarpur village in Mohali. The victim, being a known of the accused, paid the amount to him but the accused neither registered the plot on his name nor refunded the amount despite several attempts made by him in the last couple of years. The victim stated in the compliant to the police, “The deal was of selling the plot in Aerocity, Mohali under the scheme of land pooling. Bhupinder also had assured me to register the plot on my name soon and the deal was done in the presence of our mutual friend, Satender Kang. When I learnt that Bhupinder lured me as he sold the property to some other, I started calling him but to no avail.” A case has been registered against the accused under Sections 420, 467, 468 and 471 of the IPC at the Sadar police station in Ganganagar. Bhupinder Singh said that the complaint made by Jitender was fake and the allegations were baseless. He said the intermediate, Satender Kang, has falsely implicated him in the case. Satender Kang denied the allegations and said the deal was between Bhupinder and Jitender only and he has nothing to do with the case.
