In Inauguration ceremony Balbir singh, Triple Gold Olympian and victorious Olympic captain of hockey in 1948, 1952 & 1956 was invited as a chief guest. While Dr. Om Kumari Patial, Retd Principal, NJSA Govt college, Kapurthala appeared as a special guest for the event. Mr. Balbir singh & Dr. Om Kumari Patial inaugurated the sports complex. While giving information about it Chairman UGI Dr. Gurpreet Singh said games including Volleyball, Judo, Boxing, Badminton, Handball, Gymnastic and Basketball etc. can be played here. He further told that this step of opening Sports Complex for students will enhance potential of the students and help them to become best while using their young energy positively. It will not only provide avenues to the sports persons to take part in sports but will also groom them for national and international competitions. The UGI will also open doors for all those institutions who wish to avail the facilities of this hall to hold international competitions.
