Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of Vigilance Bureau Punjab said Gurjeet Singh, Patwari, posted at revenue halqa Phul 1 & 2 in Bathinda district and a private person Jaswinder Singh were caught red handed on the complaint of Mr. Harpreet Singh, a complainant of Phul Town, district Bathinda. Giving details he said the complainant approached the VB and alleged that the above named patwari and his assistant were demanding bribe of Rs. 14000 for mutation of his land and the deal was struck at Rs. 12000/-. After verifying his complaint the VB team laid a trap and both the accused were caught red handed and tainted money was recovered from them in the presence of two official witnesses. He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against both the accused at VB police Bathinda and further investigation was under progress.
