Former Punjab Health Minister and senior Congress leader Balbir Singh Sidhu has started mobilizing Congress workers for the upcoming Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections. During a meeting held in village Saneta, Sidhu appointed Pardeep Singh Tangori as the new President of the Mohali (Rural) Block Congress Committee and handed him the official appointment letter.
Addressing the gathering, Sidhu said the Congress party will fight the upcoming elections with full force and will secure victory, as the people of Punjab are fed up with the Bhagwant Mann-led government’s betrayal and failed policies.
He alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party government has not released any development funds in the Mohali constituency over the last three years, nor has it resumed the development projects initiated during the previous Congress government. Expressing concern over the condition of hospitals and schools, he said that full staffing has still not been ensured in these institutions.
Sidhu also leveled serious allegations against the Mann government for filing false cases against opposition leaders. He said the law and order situation in Punjab has deteriorated significantly, with a sharp rise in drug abuse and illegal activities.
In his address, newly appointed President Pardeep Singh Tangori thanked the party leadership and assured that he would work tirelessly to ensure Congress victories in the Zila Parishad and Samiti elections. He also committed to immediately begin forming party units in every village.
Several senior leaders and workers attended the meeting, including Mohali Municipal Corporation Mayor Amarjit Singh Jeeti Sidhu, Harkesh Chand Sharma from Machhli Kalan, Bhagat Singh Namdhari, contractor Mohan Singh Bathlana, and other prominent local leaders.
