Which agency should probe the sensitivity and its possible fallout if the false narrative is further allowed to spread venom against Punjab?,” stated Bir Devinder Singh. “Supreme Court should probe in its own wisdom, with clinical precision, the 5th January incident related to the Prime Minister’s visit to Ferozepur. It is absolutely essential to clear the misconception being built in the social media platforms through a false political narrative by the BJP all over India, to conceal their own failures and proven emptiness,” he added. “It should also be probed as to why the Prime Minister made a sarcastically pointed reference in front of the Bhatinda Airport staffers, targeting Chief Minister Punjab Charanjit Singh Channi that “he is going back alive from Punjab, just convey this to Punjab CM ”. What exactly was the ultrior motive of the Prime Minister, behind this ‘cynical pointed reference’ ? It also needs to be decodified in the larger interest of National Integration. Since the matter is being heard by the majesty of the Hon’ble Supreme Court, these significant aspects should also be addressed and clarified in the National interest. If the Prime Minister’s cavalcade is halted for twenty minutes on and over bridge, it is certainly a matter of gross concern for the security agencies of the State and the Center. The repellant incident deserved a measured response at the highest level but unfortunately, all political parties tried to give the incident a ‘political spin’. The topmost professionals of the security agencies of the country, should thoroughly probe the security lapses professionally rather than indulging in any kind of inoperable political slugfest,” Bir Devinder further stated.
