PSEB announces Class X Open School Reaper Exam Results

The Punjab School Education Board has announced the results of Class X Open School Reaper category examination held in March 2020. Board of Education Chairman Prof. Yograj said that under the 10th class open school system, the results of the candidates appearing for a maximum of two subjects in the re-appearance category have been announced online. Also the board has announced the result of the candidates who failed to appear for the Golden Opportunity Examination given by the Board of Education in October 2019, for some reason, whose examination was to be held in March 2020 but could not complete the examination process due to the pandemic. This result is declared according to the average of the marks of the first five qualified subjects through the proportional method, he said.
The Board Chairman said that two categories were created for the open school examination. In the first category there were 21,889 candidates who had to appear for the examination for the first time through the open school system in March 2020 but could not appear for the examination in all the subjects except Punjabi ‘A’ due to Covid-19. In the second category, it was decided to declare the result of 6104 candidates with Open School Reaper by averaging the marks of their first qualified subjects.
There were 3636 students in one subject and 1363 students in two subjects. The result is based on average scores. While 1105 students who have appeared in more than two subjects will be able to re-sit the examination as per the guidelines of Punjab Government. Similarly for additional subject only Punjabi ‘A’ was examined while other subjects could not be examined. In this regard, the result of Punjabi ‘B’ was declared on the basis of the marks of Punjabi ‘A’ subject. Out of 2404 candidates under additional subject category, 1160 candidates are eligible for Punjabi subject only while the remaining 1244 candidates will be able to re-sit the examination if the environment is conducive. The performance improvement category will be re-examined after 607 candidates.
Controller (Examinations) JR Mehrok said the details of the candidates appearing for the Class X Open School system and the results of the Golden Opportunity Examination should be made available on the website of Punjab School Education Board: www.pseb.ac.in and www.indiaresults.com. It may be mentioned here that the result of class XII was also announced online by the board management without merit. As a result, the students who have secured top three positions have been deprived of so many cash prizes.
