PUCA thanked Punjab Government on showing interest for the formation of Regulatory Body in Punjab

Nabaz-e-Punjab Bureau, Mohali, 29th October:
Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) thanked Chief Minister, Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh and Technical Education Minister, S. Charanjit Singh Channi on showing the commitment for the formation of Regulatory body in Punjab.
Dr. Anshu Kataria, President, PUCA welcoming this step said that this determination of the Government would give new lease of life and would revive thousands of small Unaided Colleges of Punjab.
Kataria further urged the Govt that Colleges should be excluded from the ambit of Regulatory Body as their number of seats, admissions, syllabus, examination, fee structure etc are already regulated by various regulatory bodies.
Sh. Amit Sharma, Senior Vice President, PUCA said that the colleges are already under the ambit of State Universities, Punjab Government, State Government, Centre Regulatory Body etc. If these colleges would be brought under the regulatory body it will lead to over lapping of regulatory framework and lead to the confusion.
S. Gurfateh Singh, Vice President, PUCA said that as AICTE, Indian Nursing Council (INC), Dental Council of India (DCI), Medical Council of India (MCI), Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) etc regulates the intake capacity, admission process, administration process, eligibility process, examination process, syllabi, fee structure etc of private colleges, on the similar pattern private universities and deemed universities should be brought under the ambit of AICTE or the state regulatory body.
