PUNJAB GOVERNMENT SEEKS INFORMATION FROM 37 DEPARTMENTS TO FORMULATE FIVE YEAR DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY AND TWO YEAR PRIORITY AGENDA

STEP TOWARDS ENSURE PROMPT AND HOLISTIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE STATE WITHIN TIME BOUND MANNER

In a bid to ensure speedy and harmonious development of the state within stipulated time frame, the Punjab Government has sought vital inputs from 37 departments to chalk out five year development strategy (2017-22) and two year priority agenda (2017-19).
Disclosing this here today a Spokesperson of Punjab Government said that Planning Department being the nodal agency has asked these departments to submit the relevant information in the prescribed format stipulating name of the development programmes, indicators, unit, baseline (present status) of State and Center, targets for two year priority agenda viz 2017-18, 2018-19 besides target for five year development strategy for 2017-18 and strategy to achieve the targets. All these departments have been directed to furnish these details positively by September 15, 2017.
The Spokesperson further said that a circular in this regard had already been sent to heads of these departments asking them to undertake comprehensive review of developments, needs/priorities of the state as per the prescribed format.
