Disclosing this here a spokesperson of Vigilance Bureau said Sukhmandar Singh, Patwari canals posted at Harike, Sri Mukatsar Sahib and Purshotam Das, Ziledar canals posted at Kotkapura were nabbed red handed by Vigilance team for accepting bribe of Rs. 13,000 from complainant Gurwinder Singh of Harike, Sri Mukatsar Sahib. The complainant has approached the VB that the above said Patwari and Ziledar were demanding Rs. 30,000 for fixing rotations of canal water for irrigation his fields but the deal was struck at Rs. 26000. After verifying his information a VB team, on the directions of SSP VB Bathinda Paramjit Singh, laid a trap and both the accused were arrested on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs. 13,000 as first installment from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses. He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against both the accused at VB police station Bathinda and further investigation was under progress.
