Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar to launch CM’s Yogshala, Phase -2 in the district on the International Yoga Day i.e. June 21, 2023, said the Deputy Commissioner, Ashika Jain.
      Presiding over a meeting to take stock of the arrangements to observe the IYD, she said that a total of 100 sites have been identified. Out of these, 80 places would be Health and Wellness centres while 20 Ayurvedic Centres. Civil Surgeon SAS Nagar would be the Nodal Officer for wellness centers while District Ayurvedic and Unani officer, SAS Nagar to be Nodal officer for Ayurveda Centres and five more programmes.
     Apart from that, the villages where Sanjha Jal Talab (earlier Amrit Sarovars) have been set up would also be the part of IYD celebrations.
      The Deputy Commissioner further said that the District Level International Yoga Day would be observed at Dr Ambedkar Institute of Medical Sciences Mohali at 6:30 am to 7:45 am while the assembling time has been scheduled as 6:00 in the morning. Similarly, in wellness centres the IYD programme has been scheduled from 6:00 to 6:30 am.
       She added that five yoga trainers have been assigned to the district who will impart yoga coaching through CM’s Yogshala at various places from Thursday onwards regularly. The preference will be given to the localities where a minimum 25 people will be ready to learn yoga.
The deputy commissioner asked all the officers and departments to observe the International Yoga Day and CM’s Yogshala in a well coordinated way. She said the day tells us about the importance of yoga and meditation to live a healthy lifestyle.
Among others who attended the meeting included ADC (RD) Amit Bamby, ADC (G) Paramdeep Singh, SDM Mohali Sarabjit Kaur, SDM Kharar Ravinder Singh, SDM Dera Bassi Himanshu Gupta, Joint Commissioner MC SAS Nagar Kiran Sharma, Civil Surgeon Mahesh Kumar Ahuja, District Ayurvedic and Yunani Officer Palwinder Singh, Principal of Ambedkar Institute of Medical Sciences and many other officers of the district.
