Senior citizens COVID helpline launched by SAS Nagar Police garners good response

40 senior citizens availed service

The senior citizens COVID helpline launched by SAS Nagar Police is garnering good response, informed the spokesman from the police department.
Pertinently, the District police launched a dedicated helpline numbers 9115516010 and 0172-2219356 to serve the senior citizens in the hour of COVID-19 pandemic. The aim of this initiative is to safeguard the health of those senior citizens who stay alone, away from their near and dear ones in the city of Mohali, by minimizing their exposure to the deadly virus.
A round the clock assistance is being provided to senior citizens of Mohali city with regard to cases pertaining to COVID-19. This includes free ride for vaccination, between 10am to 2pm as well as providing medical and essential services at doorstep.
Mr. Guriqbal Singh DSP Traffic SAS Nagar (mobile number 9370600001) is designated as the nodal officer for the senior citizen helpline.
It is worth to mentioning that 40 senior citizens have availed free vaccination ride facility being provided by the district police SAS Nagar through this helpline since the launch of the service on May 6.
