The victim has been identified as Nareshpal (33), a native of the Hoshiarpur district. Nareshpal was married but staying alone here, said the police. The incident came to light this evening when the police received the information that the victim’s house door had been locked for the past several hours. “A PCR party reached the spot and entered inside the apartment by breaking open the door. Nareshpal was found hanging from the ceiling fan in the servant room. No suicide note was recovered from there. We have called the parents of the victim and will initiate the proceedings after recording their statement. The dead body was sent to the mortuary of Civil Hospital in Phase 6 where the post mortem will be conducted tomorrow,” said ASI Sanjay Kumar, the investigation officer. As per the police, the victim was posted as the third commando batallion of a SAD leader, who stays in Sector 69 here.
