Senior Vets Association flays lodging of the false case against GADVASU Prof

Senior Vets Association in an emergency meeting held here today strongly condemned the
registration of a false FIR against a senior Professor of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Ludhiana without any logic at the instance of a senior officer of Punjab Government and urged the Punjab Chief Minister to intervene in the matter so that the Veterinary fraternity is not demoralized and terrorized by those in power.
Former Joint Director Animal Husbandry and member Punjab State Veterinary Council Dr. Gurinder Singh Walia lamented that such use of brute power by distorting the facts is highly condemnable especially when a senior Professor and his team was diligently performing their duty to treat the animals referred to the university Vet Hospital and restraint of dogs being the moral duty of owner. As many as thirty thousand cases from across the state and north India are brought for treatment there and clinicians have been working 24×7 to provide the best possible services to the farmers and pet owners even during the ongoing pandemic and lockdown period.
Dr. Walia said incidentally, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University was established in the year 2005 during the previous tenure of Congress government with the initiative and efforts of the then animal husbandry minister Jagmohan Singh Kang and blessings of CM Punjab Capt Amarinder Singh.
Prominent among others present in the meeting were Dr. Bimal Kumar Sharma Joint Director cum in charge Veterinary Polytechnic, Dr. Nitin Kumar, Dr. Nirmaljit Mahal, and Dr. Rajinder Kumar Vasdev retired Deputy Directors, animal husbandry Punjab.
